Introduction

Membrane filter press, also known as high-pressure Membrane filter press. Compared with the general Chamber filter press machine, a layer of elastic film is installed between the filter plate and the filter cloth, which can perform secondary pressing on the filtered filter cake, and the moisture content of the filter cake is lower.

Membrane filter Press Working Principle
Membrane Filter Press Plates have a chamber below the drainage surface that can be inflated. The common method used is water pressure, which is generated by pumping into the squeeze cavity to inflate the face of the plate against the filter cake. Membrane Plates are used to reduce the cake moisture content and shorten the filtration cycle time.


During the initial phase of the filtration cycle, so-called "fill and filtration" the process is similar to the chamber Filter Press. After reaching a predefined pressure, usually around 5 - 7 bar, depending on the sludge characteristics, sludge feeding is stopped & the rubber membranes inflated, using either water or air as squeeze medium. The cake is hereby compressed and dewatered further. Then the squeeze medium is relieved & the cake discharged.

Advantages of Membrane filter press
→Significantly shorten the filtration operation time. In the late stage of filtration, the filtration efficiency is extremely low. Using the diaphragm pressing function, the process is completed in a very short time, and the efficiency is greatly improved.

→Save operating power consumption. In the later stage of filtration, the flow rate is small, the pressure is high, and the power consumption of the feed pump is also high. Using the diaphragm pressing function, the process is completed in a very short time, saving power consumption.

→Increase the degree of mud biscuit and reduce the content of mud cake. Diaphragm pressing performs secondary pressing on the filter cake after static filtration, so that the structure of the filter cake is rearranged and the density is increased, thereby displacing part of the water and improving the dryness.

→Shorten the filtration cycle and improve the processing capacity of the filter press.
