SS filter press normally adopts hydraulic closing. Compared with normal PP filters, filter plates of stainless steel filter press are made of S.S.304 or S.S.316. In China, stainless steel filter press normally refers to stainless steel 304 filter press. It's mainly used for solid-liquid separation of high sanitation materials.

Working principle

The surface of the filter plate has pits and bosses to support the filter cloth. There are through holes in the center and corners of the filter plate, which form a complete channel after assembly and can pass through suspension, washing water, and filtrate. There are handles on both sides of the filter plate supported on the beam, and the filter plate is pressed by the pressing device. The filter cloth between the filter plates acts as a seal.

Under the pressure of the feeding pump, the material is sent into each filter chamber, and the solid and liquid are separated through the filter cloth. A filter residue is formed on the filter cloth until the filter chamber is filled to form a filter cake. The filtrate passes through the filter cloth and flows along the groove of the filter plate to the channel of the outlet hole below, where it is discharged in a concentrated manner.
After the filtration is completed, the filter residue can be washed with clean water. After washing, sometimes compressed air is introduced to remove the remaining washing liquid. After the filtration, open the filter press to remove the filter cake, clean the filter cloth, and re-press the plate filter to start the next working cycle.
